Robot Incursion is a virtual reality wave shooter for the HTC Vive. This is a room scale VR experience where you will have to defend yourself against endless waves of enemy robots. There are 7 different environments, each with it's own unique enemies. In each environment you will have to defend yourself using either an assault rifle, turret or grenades, depending on what's available.
In this game you will need to physically go to the ammo box and collect a magazine to reload. You will also have to utilize any cover, if available and use the radar attached to your weapon, to locate incoming enemies. Some environments, such as the 'Warehouse', are intensely difficult and will require a lot energy in order to get a high score. The turret has a heat display that shows you how hot it is. When it gets too hot then you will be forced to switch to using the assault rifle, while you wait for the turret to cool down enough to use again.
When you first start the game, please go to 'Training', where you will learn to use the weapons and complete various timed challenges. The timed challenges involve completing all the various targets that enter the arena, as fast as you can, using a specific weapon. Depending on the challenge, the robots may also have a training laser equipped that you will need to take cover from.
The Wire Loop Game VR
The Wire Loop Game VR brings this traditional well known game into virtual reality. It requires the HTC Vive and one motion controller to play it.
The aim of the game is to guide the metal hoop along the length of the wire without it touching. If it touches the wire, then the buzzer will sound and you will fail. In this version of the game there is also a time limit to complete the wire in. You can adjust the height of the wire by sliding a control on the table, in order to accommodate different player heights and preferences.
This game will require extreme concentration, focus and dexterity in order to complete all the wires. There are 50 wires to complete and when you have completed them all, you will unlock the achievement. You will also need a steady hand as shaking may cause you to fail.
If you are having controller tracking problems (e.g. jumping / drifting), then this is most likely caused by your body blocking one or both of the lighthouses from the controller. To try and solve this you can try changing the height of a particular wire to see if that makes the problem go away. If that fails then you may need to check the setup of the lighthouses to confirm they are in the optimum position.
WARNING: This game may be the most frustrating game you have played in VR!
The Jigsaw Puzzle Room
If you are a fan of jigsaw puzzles, then this game is for you. There are a number of images that you can choose from and there is also the option of loading in your own. There are 3 different puzzle sizes, of which increase in difficulty, the larger they are. Once the puzzle has been generated, you can then sit on the floor and start to reassemble it. While you are doing the puzzle, you can choose to listen to one of the internet radio stations available in the selection.
To add your own images, you need to locate the 'Custom' folder that can be found in the game's root directory. You can add a maximum of 14 images to this folder, of which should be as high a resolution as you can find (preferably at least 4k width), in order to get the best results. The images also need to be JPG files and not contain any large areas of the same colour, to prevent identical jigsaw pieces when choosing the largest sized puzzle. The jigsaw puzzles are a 2:1 size ratio, so if the images are not this ratio then they will be cropped.
